MEINE ERDE transforms the bodies of deceased humans into soil within 40 days. This type of funeral is called "Reerdigung" and brings together modern technology and earth's most natural process.
At the same time, each Reerdigung saves 1 ton of Co2 compared to a cremation, which roughly equals a one-person roundtrip flight from Frankfurt to Cape town.
Overall, the Meine Erde project presented a number of unique challenges. The tight 8-week timeframe for delivering results required quick and efficient collaboration.
Another challenge was the limited budget, which meant that we had to be creative in finding cost-effective solutions while still delivering high-quality results.
Furthermore, the funeral industry is an emotionally charged and sensitive one, which added another layer of complexity to the project. It was important to create a brand that was not only visually appealing but also emotionally resonant with the target audience.
The funeral industry is highly competitive, and we knew that we needed to create a brand that not only stood out, but also is respectful and fitting for the occasion. To achieve this, we closely collaborated with the Meine Erde founding team and conducted primary and secondary market research to gain a deep understanding of the market and potential customers.
Our innovative design strategy included a design pitch process, where we presented multiple concepts to the team and identified the most promising results. This helped us to stay agile and lean in our execution, enabling us to deliver high-quality assets that met the client's needs and budget restrictions.
